FOR OTAGO HARBOUR
A NEW DREDGE ( Per Press Association. ] DUNEDIN, Feb. 15. At a special meeting of the Harbour Board to-night the question of procuring a new dredge for Otago harbour was discussed at length, and a repoit by the Board’s engineer, Mr Wilkie, was adopted. Mr Wilkie’s recommendations provide for a dredge not exceeding 65 feet in length, with a reasonable' width and of a draught of from 16 feet to 16 feet 6 inches, such dredge to have a hopper capacity of about 2000 tons and be self propelled. The' recommendations also provide for Mr Robertson, assistant engineer, to supervise the building of the dredge and to have the assistance' of a naval architect for hull and stability trials.
