DANGERS OF UNEMPLOYMENT
Sir, —Your correspondent, “H.W.,’’ seem.s to be one of those ungrateful fellows whom fortune has smiled on and fails to recognise that it was through the efforts fand industry of many of his fellowmcn that it was possible for him. to live in what no doubt is his present affluence. Most of our enlightened statesmen recognise that it is not only unchristian, but dangerous, to allow an unduly large mass of unemployed men in our society. Hunger breeds discontent and its natural concomitant, Bolshevism, which every loyal subject wishes to avoid. Let us try and help these unfortunates instead of goading them to desperation! Our glorious little country is passing through a period of depression, an dit behoves us to all pull together, when, I have no doubt, prosperity will soon be ours. JOHN WILSON. Rfangatana, February 12.
