PRISONER ESCAPES
BREAKS AWAY FROM ERUA CAMP (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Feb. 15. Early this morning George William Thomas, aged 34, escaped from Waikune prison camp at Erua, about five miles from,National Park railway station. Thomas is well known to the police, especially in the Auckland province, and has travelled under seven aliases. On October 29 he was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment for receiving stolen property.
