CLAIM FOR DAMAGES
SLANDER ACTION FAILS [ Per Press Assoc Intinu. ) CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 14. In the Supreme Court to-day, Robert Redpath Sandford, a carter, sued Edgar Johnson, a farmer, thc employer of plaintiff, for £5OO damages for alleged slander. It is alleged that Johnson had made tin unfounded charge of dishonesty against Sandford, in suggesting that he had stolen a sack of coal. The case was heard by Mr Justice Adtams and a jury of twelve, and the verdict wias for defendant, with costs.
