THE INDIAN TOUR RECENT NEW ZEALAND TOUR NET PROFIT OF £1525 SHOWN The report issued by the New Zealand Hockey Association regarding the financial position arising out of the Indian Army hockey team’s recent visit, reveals a net profit of £1525 on the j tour. Of this amount the New Zealand Hockey Association received 10 I per cent., while the balance is for dis- . tribution between the various associations in the proportion that their net ; gates bear to the total gates. The third test match played at Auck- | land was an extra match, and was not provided for in the initial itinerary. It ; was played only at the special request i of Captain Cowan, with a view to as- ; sisting the Indian Army authorities, as ; the expenses of the assembling and travelling of the team greatly exceeded the estimate, chiefly due to the fact , of including two more members than ' was originally intended. The net gate ( for this extra match was £5lO, and | £2OO is being remitted to India in ac- | cordance with the agreement. It is the intention of the New Zea- | land Hockey Association to invite further visits from the Indian Army > teams. 'Phe Now Zealand Association has re- ( reived a letter from Colonel H. E. Jackson, president of the Army Sports Con- . tral Board, India, in which he expresses j the warm thanks of the board at the admirable arrangements made in connection with the visit and for the hospitality universally extended to the team. * The letter concludes with an expression of appreciation that the visit has helped to stimulate hockey in Now Zealand and promoted good feeling between the two countries. I
