DEAD TWO DAYS
WOMAN FOUND IN BED RESULT OF A FALL. MEDICAL AID NOT CALLED IN. (Per Press Association.) WOODVILLE, Sept. 4. On Thursday last, Mrs S. Bussell, wife of the licensee of the Post Office Hotel at Woodville, was found dead in bed. A medical witness gave evidence at the inquest to-day, to the effect that she had been dead at least two days before he was called in. There was also evidence that she fell in the hotel passage on August 27 and received injuries to her head. The post mortem revealed that she had had a haemmorhage of the brain, caused by the fall. The coroner, who gave his verdict in accordance with the medical testimony, commented strongly on the fact that medical or other aid was not soyght at a much earlier period. He said that in any case he did not think that even if a doctor had been called in, the woman’s life could have been saved.
