TARANAKI’S DOUBLE TWO WANGANUI TEAMS BEATEN (Per Press Association.) ELTHAM, Sept. 4. Taranaki ladies, 3 goals (Miss Nutting 1, Miss Watkins 2), beat Wanganui 1 (Miss Wakeling scored). In the men’s game Taranaki 8 (Harding 2, Free 2) beat Wanganui 1 (scored by Connel.) LADIES’ TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS PLAY DRAWN GAME EUAHINE v. SOUTHLAND (Per Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Sept. 4. The weather was perfect and the ground in good condition for the final of the ladies’ hockey tournament, between Southland and Buahine. The at tendance was 4000. The first spell ended one all, honours being fairly even. Play was very fast and interesting. Alias AL Mclntyre scored a fine goal for Southland, and Miss N. Foreman scored for Ru-ahine from a scramble in front of the posts. In the second spell, Ruahine did most of the attacking in the closing stages, and amidst tremendous excitement the game ended with the score unaltered. Buahine 1, Southland 1.
