RANGITIKEI GOLF CLUB. (From the “'Chronicle’s” Special Correspondent). • On Thursday the local ladies journeyed to Feilding* to play a return match. Ideal weather conditions prevailed and a very enjoyable afternoon was spent. On this occasion Feilding selected a stronger team and reversed the previous week’s decision, winning by 13 games to 3. A number of the games, however, were evenly contested, i several being won on the last green. The following are the results, Feilding players being mentioned first:—Mrs Thompson won from Mrs Law, Mrs Miles won from Mrs Harris, Mrs Shortt won from Miss W. Bailey, Mrs Handing won from Miss Kibbell, Mrs Fair lost to Mrs Ralfe, Miss Redwood won from Miss Taverner, Miss McKenzie won from Miss Johnstone. Miss Crabb won from Miss 0. Levett, Mrs Tankensley won from Miss Walker, Airs Wilde won from Mrs McKenzie, Miss Fish won from Miss Perrett, Mrs Salmond won from Mrs Levett, Miss Atkinson lost to Mrs Marumaru. Miss Ell erm lost to Mrs Goodall, Miss Perry won from Mrs Watson. Miss Entwhistle won from Miss AL Bailey. An eclectic competition was arranged for the men on the same day, P. Whisker, H. E. Tricker and T. Ellis handing in the best net scores. Mr Galloway junr., the well-known professional coach, has arrived on the links and found his time fully booked up, but those desirous of taking night lessons in St. Andrew’s Hall should notify Miss Levett at once. RUGBY FOOTBALL. The lodge match, Rangitikei v. Rua Tamaki (Dannevirke), played on the Domain on Thursday, was full of interesting and exciting football. There was no score at half-time, but earlv in the second spell Gibson (Dannevirke) dropped a neat goal from a penalty a long way out. The black forwards carried the ball downfield and in a meelee Westward got over in the corner. Play was very even until an offending Bulls forward gave a free kick under tho posts. Power had no difficulty in kicking a goal. With a few minutes to go L. Homes made a brilliant run from half-way, beating several players to score near the posts. The kick did not add to the score, and the game ended 6 all. Mr Alf. Green was referee. F. Norman was unfortunate in hurting a lug and had to retire when the game was at an interesting stage. A combined school team. Sandon— Ohakea, visited Bulls on Friday, but were defeated by the local boys by 9 points to 3. A. McKinnin and J. Carter scored tries for Bulls, while R. Ellery kicked a penalty goal. The only score for the visitors was a penalty goal by R. Harris. Mr J. B. Signal was referee. BULLS PLUNKET SOCIETY. The annual meeting of the Bulls branch of the Plunket Society was held on May 31 in the Clifton Hall; present —Alesdames H. A. Goodall (in the chair), J. Larmer, F. A. Holland. J Capstick. A. Vile, J. B Rolfins, E. Wilson. and Al. Schaab and Miss Green. The report stated that during the year the sum of £7 7s had been collected by way of subscription and £37 7s by street collection and donations. The expenses had totalled £l6 ISs 3d. Both horses returned good dividends, and their successes were fully anticipated in local sporting circles. “LITTLE ROBINSON CRUSOE” The eight principal characters in Jackie Coogan’s new Aletro feature, “Little Robinson Crusoe,” which will be screened at the Bulls Town Hall to-morrow night are playing their first parts with the little star. They are all new to Jackie, but all old in picture experience. These eight characters are known to fans everywhere. Ltd., art* to be congratulated upon the high grading of cheese exhibited at the AVaikato Winter Show. The entries constituted a Dominion record, and Parewanui cheese gained the following awards: — First Wellington and Hawke’s Bay Championship. 95 points; first in ease loaf cheese (coloured), 95 points. THIRD GRADE RUGBY. ATHLETIC 6, BULLS 0. Athletic journeyed to Bulls to meet the local thirds on the Domain. The weather was ideal for football and the ground in .the best of condition.’ Bulls kicked off against the sun and pressed the visitors for a good five minutes until a long kick by Athletic gave Robinson (Athletic) a chance to score near the corner.
