Tho Portuguese President has resigned for a reason af present not announced, but the situation has recently become complicated by the action of the Confederation of Labour in preparing to oppose any attempt to establish a military dictatorship On the contrary, tho revolutionary leaders at the beginning expressed their desire to the President that a new Government be formed outside the political parties. The troops in the northern and southern districts are supporting General Costa and are marching on Lisbon, and will encamp on the outskirts, pending the arrival of the General.
