FALSE PRETENCES
PROBATION FOR THREE YEARS. WELLINGTON SUPREME COURT. [Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 3. At the Supreme Court, George Norris, who pleaded guilty to charges of false pretences, was admitted to probation for three years, and to pay the costs of the prosecution, make restitution and not to continue certain undesirable acquaintances. A REGRETTABLE LAPSE. FORMER PRISONER TO BE GAOLED. [Per Press Association] AUCKLAND, Feb. 3. At the Supreme Court Lincoln Evans Turner, for forgery and uttering a cheque for £2O at Dargaville, was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment and to return to the status of an habitual criminal.
