“RUSTY” USURPS JOB AS MIX’S GUARDIAN. (From the “Chronicle’s” Special Correspondent.) Tom Mix, who appears in his latest starring vehicle, “Eyes of the Forest” at the Bulls Town Hall this (Wednesday) evening, has a new admirer. He answers to the name of “Rusty,” ana barks admission to being a pedigreed Scotch terrier. “Rusty” is a forlorn looking critter, though he surprises with sudden bursts of pep. He belongs to Lambert Hillycr, who directed Mix in “Eyes of the Forest,” and who, since “Rusty” annexed himself to Tom, is entertaining grave doubts as to just whom the pup really does belong to. “Rusty” appointed himself Tom’s guardian during the filming of the picture. Every morning he would run over to the Mix bungalow and trot back contentedly to the Fox studio at the heels of the actor. Then, with “Rusty’s” permission, Tom went to work. M.U.1.0.0.F. A meeting of members of the Manchester Unity of Oddfellows was held in Bulls on Friday evening, Past Grand Bro. Forbers, of the Wanganui Lodge, presiding. Those present were unaninmously of the opinion that it was most desirable that a Lodge he formed for Bulls and the district, there being a good number of Manchester Unity brethren already in the township and district; and it was felt that others would be willing to join. The meeting was adjourned until next Thursday evening, those present promising to canvass their friends to sec how many would he willing to join the Lodge. Ten names of prospective members wore submitted. Those interested in the Manchester Unity are asked to attend a meeting to bo hold in the Sunday School, Parewanui Road, Bulls, at 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 4.
