CHRISTMAS TRAM SERVICE

PROVISION MADE FOR LATE SHOPPERS ARRANGEMENTS FOR RUNS TO CASTLECLIFF. Special provision has been made by tho Tramways Department to attend to iho requirements of citizens in respect to transport during tho holiday season. This evening the service will be continued until J 1.30 o’clock, but between the hours of 6 o’clock and 10 o’clock tho cars will not run in the Avenue below Guyton Street. On Christmas Day the usual tram service will be, suspended, but this will not have the effect*’ of depriving residents of tho opportunity of spending tho day at the beach if they so desire. Arrangements have bceij mads for the substitution of a. special bus service, which will run from the Aramoho terminus and Wanganui East to Castlecliff, via Guyton Street. The Sunday morning time-table will be observed, while buses will be run in the after, noon according to the schedule published in the advertisement columns. The big attraction at Castlecliff on Boxing Day and Monday is tho Castlecliff Gala, and for tho convenience of citizens, cars will bo run direct from Aramqho to Castlecliff every fifteen minutes from .10.30 a.m. till fl p.m. Cars will run through Gonvillo by alternate routes, leaving Guyton Street, via Koroniiko Road on the hour and half-past tho hour, and via Alma Road on the quarter-past, the hour, and iho quartcr-to the hour. Tho regular Wanganui East service will also bo observed. It is also understood that during the rush hours this evening all vohiculnr traffic will be restricted in the business area.
