THE STORE FOR PRESENTS A. D. WILLIS, LTD. WHERE THE GOOD BOOKS ARE. Established over 50 years ago, the popular firm of A. D. Willis Ltd. Lave progressed with the town of Wanganui, and to-day can honestly claim to be one of the most successful establishments of their kind in the whole of the Dominion. So rapid has been the expansion of their business that to-day three large buildings are necessary to carry on the activities of the firm ar.l house the large stock the firm carries. While wandering through this huge book arcade, it is easy to understand how Willis Ltd. came to be known as the “House where the good books arc.” In Wicksteed Place is situated the firm’s printing, bookbinding, and lithographic factory, where a large staff is kept busily employed. It is, however, with the firm’s retail warehouse in Victoria Avenue that the public of Wanganui will be chiefly concerned this Christmastide. Following their usual custom, A. D. Willis, Ltd., have gone out of their way to get together a huge stock of Christmas presents from the four corners of tho globe, and a peep into their big Christmas fair gives one the impression that he must have rubbed Aladdin’s magic lamp and been transported to some enchanted castle.

New Books. A. D. Willis Ltd., pride themselves upon their books, and this season they have a splendid offering of the latest novels, which should serve as excellent companions during the holidays. There are books upon books for the little folks, all of which will bring long hours of undiluted pleasure to the boys and girls who arc fortunate this Christmas to find them upon their pillows when they are awakened by the carols. The annuals are a particularly bright lot this year, being beautifully illustrated ami containing plenty of healthy reading matter. Amongst these may be cited “Boys’ Own Annual,” “Girls’ Own Annual,” !• .viand.” “N.Z. Boys’ Annual,” “*X.Z. Girls’ Annual,” and “Little Folks.” Then Willis’ have a large assortment of illustrated books for children, and award books, the latter being particularly suitable as presents. Passing on through the spacious, airy, well-ventilated and admirablylighted show rooms, one comes upon the Fancy Goods Department, where are stored a thousand and one choice articles which surely were manufactured with the sole object of being turned into Christmas presents. There are silver photo frames, rose bowls, opera glasses, handbags, dress baskets, scent sprays, pin trays, handkerchief boxes, sachets, pin cushions, vanity cases, E.P. vases, S.M. vases, mirrors, trinket boxes, blotters, writing pad cases, serviette-rings, leather bound poets, classics, collar boxes, suit cases, dressing cases, safety razors, pocket wallets, cigarette cases, tie hangers, fountain pens, military brush sets, cigar boxes, and thousands of other lines. A. D. Willis, Ltd., arc a credit to the town, and Mr All. A. Willis (managi' .. director), and Messrs W. N. Willis and Bert Willis (directors) will this Christmas receive the thanks of every person in Wanganui for the enterprise they have displayed in making provision for such a splendid Christmas Fair,
