Attention is drawn to the “New Zealand Nautical Almanac and Tide Tables, 1926,” page 109, in the extreme right-hand column of which the standard port of reference for Whangaparoa roads is incorrectly shown as “ W ellington.” This should be altered to read “Auckland,” the latter being the place on which the time differences for obtaining the times of high and low water at-Whangaparoa roads are based. WARNING TO SHIPPING. The Secretary, General Post Office, advises that the s.s. Omana reports by radio that at 7.30 p.m. on the ISth instant, the four-masted schooner “Holmwood” was passed in lat. 33.42, long. 171.32 east, and that the latter vessel reported having passed a derelict about 90 feet long, floating in lat. 39.19 south, long. PORT HUNTER’S PROGRAMME. At present discharging London cargo in New Zealand, the Port Hunter leaves Dunedin on Thursday for New Plymouth, Wellington and Napier to complete. She subsequently loads at Napier, thence W’aikckopu, j Gisborne. New Plymouth. Lyttelton, Timaru, J Wanganui and Wellington, and sails finally from Wellington at the end of January for London, via Panama.

KUMARA TO LOAD. The steamer Kumara is due at Wanganui from Brisbane on January 13th to commence Homeward loading. She afterwards loads at Oamaru, thence Lyttelton, Wellington (January 22 to January 24), Opua and Auckland, and sails finally from Auckland on February 12 for London. Captain D. Christie, late of the Karamea, is in command of the Kumara. RUAPEHU RADIOS. A radio message received from the raster of the steamer Ruapehu states that the vessel is due at Wellington on Sunday afternoon from London and Southampton. She is bringing cargo for discharge at Wellington Port Chalmers. RUAHINE LEAVES HOME. Confirmation has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that the liner Ruahine sailed from Southampton on Friday last for Wellington and Auckland. She is due at Wellington on January 23.
