NOVEL ATTRACTIONS
AT CASTLECLIFF GALA Among the many novel attractions to be introduced at the Castlecliff Carnival Gala commencing next Saturday (Boxing Day 1 is a treasure 11unt, £5 worth of alluvial gold is the treasure and it will be hidden in a certain spot on the gala grounds. The clues by which discovery may be made will be enclosed in envelopes to be sold at .1/-. If the (dues are read aright, the treasure will be easily accessible. In order that every clue, holder will have an equal opportunity, the treasure will be hidden at a given time to be announced. in lhe meantime the discoverer can study the elm's and arrive at a definite conclusion and be ready to pounce on the treasure the moment it is deposited. The baby competition to be held on Saturday next should attract many
bonnio babies. Liberal prizes will be j awarded, the exhibition will be held in i one of the large tents, providing comi fort for mothers and babies as well as . the public. The fairy dell will be an | attraction to the children. Although ! Father Christmas will he gone home, he i will leave the good fairy the spirit of ■ carnival to distribute presents to the ' little ones. The magic fishing pond will ! also interest the children, while grownl ups will find much to amuse in various j games of skill and sideshows, etc. The i motion picture pavilion will provide I entertainment for all and what with • sports, fireworks, concerts, bucking l motor, there should not be a. dull moment at the carnival. A. boxing tournament arranged by Air T. P. Souter, by courtesy of the Wanganui Boxing Association, is booked for -ext ATonday night, and on Wednesday night, December 30, the attraction will be the West bourne Choir under Air Fred Slater. As a preliminary to the Carnival, surprise packets will he sold in the city on Xmas Eve, and a mock court will be held at the corner of Alaria Place and the Avenue. Alembors of the Swankers’ Club will assist on Xmas Eve and well known business men will conduct the court.
