NEW SCALE OF COMPENSATION. AMENDED PROVISIONS IN 17.5. W. SYDNEY, Nov. 6. The amended Workers’ Compensation Act was read a first time in the Assembly. It provides that £675 shall be paid for losing an arm, £6OO for a leg, £525 for a foot, £375 for an eye, and £675 if the other is also seriously damaged; £6OO for loss of hearing, £225 for a thumb, £l5O for a forefinger, £ll2 for other fingers, £9O for a toe, £75 for the joint of a toe. When death results from an injury the dependants arc to receive a sum aggregating from £4OO but not exceeding £BOO.
