MARRIED OR SINGLE [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Nov. 5. The Education Board, discussing a letter from the executive of the New Zealand Education Institute notifying its intention to test at law the granting of preference to married teachers or to male teachers to the disadvantage of women applicants. Mr King suggested (a conference between the Institute and the Board as an expression of a desire to avoid litigation. „Alr Snell said that after the age of twelve boys required the discipline of a married man. Mrs Ferness suggested that there might be cases, but her preference should ho given to women teachers. The letter was received.
