The Assembly put through ail stages R Bill to abolish proportional representation and substitute single seat electorates with the lirst-past-the-post system. A motion by Mr Bavin to adopt preferential voting with single seat electorates was rejected. The Legislative Council rejected by 28 t 4) 25 a Bill to allow women to sit in file Council.—Aus.-N.Z.
