NOT A QUESTION OF WAGES A REVOLUTIONARY MOVE PERTH, Oct. 31. Tho secretary of the Albany branch of the Waterside Workers’ Federation, addressing wateraiders, said that the original intention of those engineering tho British seamen’s strike was to precipitate & general strike throughout Australia, not for tho purpose of getting better conditions for the seamen, but for revolutionary purposes. He warned members against becoming embroiled in such a dispute.
MEN IN GAOL TO SERVE THEIR TIME [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Oct. 31. The shipping companies have decided not to ask for any remission of sentence now being served by striking seamen.
