WANGANUI CLUB OPENED ON SATURDAY The Wanganui Club’s courts wore opened on Saturday afternoon in beautiful weather, when there was a very largo attendance of members and visitors. Mr N. R. Bain, vice-president, in de daring the season open, referred to the great improvements effected in the grounds during the off season. He said he felt sure that with the fine courts they now had and the excellent pavilion the standard of play would show a marked improvement during the coming season. He then called upon Mrs Baird (wife of the president) to present the prizes won last season. Play was then indulged in, all the courts being fully occupied. Among those present was Mr K. Swanson, of Wellington, as well as representatives from all the city clubs.
