WANGANUI CLUB 25-MILE ROAD RACE. The 25-mile cycle road race held on Saturday hy the Wanganui Cycling {Club resulted in a win for L. C. (Col) Smith, lUmin. handicap; Bob Macey, lOmin. handicap, 2; L. E. (Lauric) ■ Smith, Bmin. handicap, 3. j The winner’s time was Ihr. Umin. 30scc.; Macey’s Ihr. 12min.; Lauric Smith. Ihr. 11 min. Stan Crutchley jut up a great ride, and secured fastest time, Ihr. 6min. 30 sec.; K. Crutchley second fastest time, Ihr. Bmin. Macey mistook the turn the first time round, and went considerably out of his way. He was leading by a quarter of a mile at the first turn. The only thing to mar the running of the race was a collision between Dave Nicholson (scratch) and a young lady who was coming off Dublin Street bridge. It was unavoidable, but Nicholson’s machine was badly damaged through it, and he. sustained a good shaking and a lot of bruises. Mr W. Greenless conducted the race.
