A DISAPPEARING LAKE
Bass Lake, near Ely, Minnesota., 1 U.S.A., lias been getting smaller and smaller in a most mysterious fashion. The clever people who have been sent down to discover why, can only say that the lake will most likely soon have to be wiped off the map. The like is now only about a third of its original size. Thousands of fish are lying dead in the slime of its receding shores. It is ihought that some underground channel has somehow or other been unstopped, and that the water •flows into a lake lying at a lower level.
