The first prize bullock at the Dunedin Winter Show was an immense purebred Friesian, bred by Air A. Elworthy, of South Canterbury, New Zealand. This ox, when taken off the grass to be sent on to the show', weighed 36641 b, but at the. show' it only weighed 34201 b, having lost some 2cwt. in about two weeks. It was exhibited by Air A. J. Keith, and is the heaviest bullock recorded in Australia to date.
