CASTLECLIFF LADIES’ M.R. CLUB
FANCY DRESS DANCE. The Castlecliff Ladies’ Miniature Rifle Club’s wind-up euchre party and 'fancy-dress dance, held in the Castlecliff iTnvr. Hall on Wednesday evening, was | a great success.'The hall was tastefully decorated with the club’s colours, and festooned with streamers representing • snowflakes, among which were numerJous chrysanthemums. The floor wts in I excellent condition, and the music was I supplied by the Greenwi ch Orchestra, extras being played by Messrs Knyvctt and Pedley and Miss Drummond, while , Miss Wise carried out the duties of M.C. A dainty supper was provide! by the ladies, the tables being nicely arranged with flowers. There wore many fancy dresses, and Mrs. John Coull who was appointed judge, had a difficult task in selecting the winners, the result being Miss Drummond (Maori maid) and Mr. Howe (Mephiscophcle*-). The euchre prizes were won by Mis. Mortessen and Mr. Peters. Among the many fancy dresses were the following: Miss Drummond, Maori Maid; Miss V. (Stewart, Dominos; Miss O. Scott, Patches; Mrs. Johnston, Patches; Miss R. Johnston, Patches; Miss Fay, Patches; Mrs. Neil, N.Z. Refr. Com; Miss Walker, Carnival; Miss Wise, Continuance; Miss Miss Mortensen, Jester; Miss L. Davis, Gipsy; Miss G. Anthony, Carmen; Mrs. •P. Firmin, Erigland and France; Mrs. : Tobin, Mother Machrec; Miss Mitchell. Blac -eyed Susan; Miss King, Sweet (Lavender; Miss Crump, American Girl.
