Mr W. Salt, the well-known contractor, entered a private hospital yesterday afternoon to undergo an operation for appendicitis. The Right Hon. Edward Wood, Minister of Agriculture in the British Parliament, has been appointed Viceroy of India. Prior to the departure of Mr. W. J. Forsyth, of the Wanganui Public Trust Office, to take up his duties of District Public Trustee at Dannevirke, the staff met, and in a pleasing little speech Mr. T. R. Allen, District Public Trustee, presented Mr. Forsyth with a travelling rug as a token of esteem and as a reminder of his association with the Wanganui office.
