PROHIBITIONISTS DENOUNCE PROHIBITION
GREAT NEWSPAPER FORCED TO NEW CONCLUSION
For many years past the “ Detroit Free Press” has been in active support of Prohibition. On April 1, however, it published an editorial expressing a complete change of view. “Reluctantly this newspaper arrives at the conviction that the Eighteenth Amendment (Prohibition) was a fearful error. Anybody who has the price, and care to risk insanity or death can get all the liquor he wants. ‘ 1 Since Prohibition went into 1 effect,’ a professional criminal class numbering tons of thousands has sprung up and spread throughout th; country. It is a sad, depressing, and disappointing fact that the Eighteenth Amendment (Prohibition) hat brought no blessing to the youth ol America. It is a fair contention that, on the contrary, it has brought a curse. Conditions were never so bad as they are to-day and there is no light ahead. Our youth is being ruined.” Compare this honest admission of the facts with the “hedging” of professional prohibitionists in this country and vour very commonsense will prompt you to VOTE CONTINTTANCE.
