The sale at Adcli ngton’ to-day was a good one, fat cattle and store sheep i meeting with an improved sale, whilst i fat sheep were firm. | Store Sheep.—Mostly ewes and lambs were forward, and those sold at an improved rate, as did other classes in this , section. Good ewes and lambs, 24s Gd to 36s Hd; medium ewes and lambs, 21s 3d to 33s Gd; forward wethers, 37s 6d to 40s; medium wethers, 36s to 37s 3d; good halfbred ewe hoggets, 40s to 42s 6d; medium half bred ewes, 36s 3d - to 50s; mixed sex ha If bred hoggets, 32s i lOd; shorn hoggets, 22s lOd to 24s sd. I SPT in g Lambs.—Seventy-five were enI tcred. They ranged from 27s to 45s , 6d, the market being spirited throughout.
Fat Sheep.—Except for small lots i from Blenheim and South. Otago, the market was of Canterbury origin. A rather irregular sale; but values wero ■ fully up to last week. Extra prime wethers, 57s to 59s 4d; prime wethers, 48s 6d to 555; medium withers, 44s 6d . to 47s Gd; light wethers, 42s to 445; extra prime ewes, to 50s Id; prime owes, 41s 6d to 44s 6d; medium ewes, •38s to 41s; light ewes, 34s lOd to 37s 6d; prime shorn wethers, 40s to 44s , 4d; medium shorn wethers, 35s to 30s 6d; light shorn wethers, 29s 10d to 345. Fat Cattle.—The entry numbered 360 head. There was a firming in values 'of from 20s to 25s per head. Extra i prime beef made to 62s per 100 lbs; prime, 55s Gd to 58s 6d; prime heavyweight, 52s 6d to 555; medium quality, 48s to 51s; light and inferior, 43s to 46s 6d; and rough, down to 30s per 100 lbs. Extra prime heavy weights steers, £2B 7s 6d; prime heavy steers, £22 10s to £25 10s; medium weight steers, £lB 15s to £2l 10s; light steers, £l5 to £18; rough steers, £ll 10s to £l4 10s; extra prime heifers, to £l9 7s Gd; prime heifers, £l4 to £l7 ss; ordinary heifers, £lO 10s to £l3 10s; light heifers, £8 to £lO ss; extra prime cows, to £l9 2s Gd; prime cows, £l3 10s to , £l6 15s; ordinary cows, £lO 5s to £l3; I light cows, £8 17 s Gd to £10; rough cows. £6 to £8 ss.
Vealers. —Good prices ruled. Runners, £8 5s to £8 15s; good vealers, £6 15s to £7 10s; medium, £5 2s to £6 7s 6d; calves, 20s to 50s. Store Cattle.—A lino of 130 head of two and four-year station steers averaged from £7 to £ll 15s; cows, from £3 2s 6d to £6 10s; and heifers, £4 to £6 ss.
Dairy Cattle.—Best springers, £8 to £10; medium, £4 10s to £6.
Fat Figs.—Good sale. Choppers, £4 to £7 10s; baconcrs, £4 5s to £6 10s (average price per lb, 8d to 9d); porkers, 52s to 75s (average price per lb, 9d to lOd).
Store Figs.—A brisk demland. Woaners, 25s to 395; stores, 35s to 495; extra large, 55s to 61s; sows in pig. to £5 16s.
