FLOUR MILL DESTROYED
DISASTROUS FIRE AT DUNEDIN. [Per Press Association.] DUNEDIN, Oct. 28. A disastrous fire early this morning gutted Steven and Co.’s flour mill at Water of Leith, owned by Harraway and Co. The brigade arrived at 4 o’clock to find the position hopeless, the whole building being a mass of flames and dwellings in the vicinity threatened, but the brigade saved them scathless.
It is expected that the origin was a faulty switch. The insurances are unavailable, but the total loss of valuable machinery and stocks involves very many thousands.
