BRITISH LABOUR PARTY
NEXT GOVERNMENT’S POLICY. STATEMENT BY MR. SNOWDEN. LONDON, Oct. 27. Mr. Philip Snowden, speaking at Paisley, said that the next Labour Government would demand the key positions of capitalism, such as the ownership of land, railways and electric power. Its financial policy would be to raise the revenue by taxation of unearned wealth and to remove taxation from the necessaries of life. It seemed most likely that the present Government if it remained in office thiee years longer would impose a full-blown system of Protection. The Labour Party stood solid against Protection, but did not flavour imports, the production of which involved degradation of foreign workem.
