[ Now completing discharge of her London j cargo and loading at Timaru, the Raranga subsequently loads at Picton, Wellington (November 4 to November 10), and Auckland, and sails finally from Auckland on November 18 for London, via Monte Video and TenerifTe. CARGO FROM NEW YORK. Cable advice has been received that the Port Pirie sailed from New York on October 122 with cargo for discharge at Auckland, Na- | pier, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. The i vessel is due at Auckland on November 21, i and at Wellington about a week later. According to official statistics issued by the Suez Canal Company, 251 vessels passed through the Canal between August 1 and 20, compared with 269 and 251 in the cor responding period of 1924 and 1923 respectively. TAHITI FROM ’FRISCO. | The Union Company’s R.M.S. Tahiti arrived ; in the stream at Wellington at 3 p.m. on Monday from San Francisco, via Papeete and RaroItonga. The vessel berthed at the Taranaki Street Wharf at 4.45 p.m. The Tahiti sailed from San Francisco on October 7 at 1 p.m. and !at 2.20 p.m. dropped the pilot. Fine weather ;and smooth seas were experienced until arrival |at Papeete at 6 a.m. on October 17. Heavy rain then set in, and hamjiered the unloading of cargo so that the vessel was unable to resume her voyage until 3.30 a.m. on October 18. The ship arrived at Rarotonga at 6.45 p.m. on October 20. A large quantity of fruit was loaded, the weather being fine. At 1.50 p.m. on October 21 the Tahiti sailed again. A fair breeze and moderate seas prevailed until the wind suddenly shifted to the south, and quickly increased to a heavy gale, accompanied by mountainous seas. The vessel’s speed was reduced to dead slow, but heavy sprays swept • the decks continually. While the ship was I pitching, one of the sailors fell and suffered a I severe cut over one of his eyes, which necessitated stitching by the ship’s surgeon.
