Mr Alexander John Magson, a re-cently-elected member of the Lyttelton Harbour Board, died on Friday. He was a farmer at Rakaia. and was prominent in the district in publiic affairs.
News of the death of Mrs James L. Craig, of Kaitoke, who passed away at the hospital on Saturday morning, was received with deep regret by a large circle of friends. The deceased lady was very highly respected in the Kaitoke district, where she was always willing to take an active part in the religious and social life of the community. She became seriously ill at the end of last year, and entered the Vanganui Hospital, where she remained, bearing her suffering with great fortitude, till she passed away on Saturday morniug. A husband and two boys are left to mourn their loss. A memorial service is to be conducted at Kaitoke Church by the Bev. E. C. Cox on Sunday afternoon.
