PROPOSED NEW DIOCESH AUCKLAND, Oct. 24. Tho Anglican Synod adopted a resolution strongly recommending th< General Synod to form a new diocesf for the Maoris of New Zealand, agreeing to any needed tn.ltorations in the boundaries in the Auckland diocese. Tho resolutions were carried amid enthusiasm, members springing to their fee*- and singing tho Doxology. During tho discussion Archbishop Averill said that he honestly believed the proposal for a Alaori diocese had no connection with tho Ratana movement.
