LIQUOR TRADE POSTERS
(To the Editor). Sir. —I would deem it a favour if you would allow me a little space in your paper to express what at least one mother thinks of tho posters put up by the liquor traffic. “Have faith in your boy” is one, land then they go on and tell'us that if we carry prohibition then the boy they are asking us to have faith in is almost sure to turn out a dope fiend, a boot-legger; in fact, might become anything, if we dare to remove this great public benefactor, this wonderful, soothing, peacemaking drug called alcohol. “Hold fast to Liberty,” is another one. Surely, a trade which dissipates and destroys is
directly and indirectly responsible for most of the inmates in our gaols am asylums; where then is the liberty? I consider this an insult to our intelligence. Do they think because th-'y have held sway so long that the brains of the people have become muddled; that wc can no longer think clearly. No,-sir, I contend that we have no cause to look to the drink traffic for our liberty. ‘‘lie that pondcreth the heart consider it. He that keepeth the soul, doth not he know it? He shall render to every man according to ,his works.”—l am, etc., A MOTHER OF FIVE.
