CLEARING LETTER BOXES

(To the Editor). Sir, —Poor “Migrans”! You got it in the neck, didn’t you? But still, altho’ you did write “balderdash” about “many moons,” after all it is only a political way of saying a “long time,” land I think you may have done some good. Why should the suburbanites have to go on to the town G.P.O. to catch an English mail on Monday mornings, or if they want business men in the city to receive a letter from them by the first delivery? The Post Office is kept up by the public, and is there for its convenience, and one does not like to see New Zealand lagging behind other countries in postal facilities, or what is worse, retrogressing, and at one time the boxes were always cleared about 4 a.m., in time to catch the early-morning closing mails, and early delivery. I think “Consistent” is too hard on “Migrans.” He asked no one to work on Sunday, or to stay away from church, and perhaps he, like me, writes his weekly correspondence on Saturday, and only posts it on Sunday, thinking it will catch these early-morning closing mails.—l am, etc., CONSISTENT NO. 2. Wanganui, Oct. 24, .1925.
