RAILWAY HOUSING SCHEME
FOR WANGANUI EAST THIRTY DWELLINGS TO BE ERECTED. A scheme of considerable importunes to the city, and one that will be appreciated by railway employees, has boon decided upon by the Railway Department. The Department has acquired thirty acres of land from tho Paul estate, at Wanganui East, and proposes to proceed as soon as possible with the erce tion of thirty houses on the block. Tho preliminary plan of sub division has been submitted to the City Council for consideration, and it is possible that, some slight amendments will bo sur gested. It is understood tho settlement will be controlled by tho department, which will provide its own reading and other facilities. The Council will be required to provide water reticulation on terms to be agreed upon.
