“AS MAN DESIRES.”

AT BULLS TOWN HALL, TO-NIGHT (From the “Chronicle’s” Special Correspondent.) Milton Sills and Viola Dana are together again! The two picture stars, who have played together on many occasions in the past, have the leading roles in “As Man Desires,” a highly romantic, colourful story of the Orient and the South Seas, which will be screened at the Bulls Town Hall this (Saturady) evening. The two are billed as the co-featur-ing players in this First National picture, and are to be supported by an unusually strong cast, including Ruth Clifford, Rosemary Theby, Tom Kennedy, Paul Nicholson, Lou Payne, Hector Sarno, Anna May Walthall, Edneh Altemus, and Frank Leigh. The picture is one of action from start to finish. It was directed by Irving Cummings under the supervision of Earl Hudson. BULLS TENNIS CLUB. The Bulls Tennis Club have two im-i portant ,fixtures for Labour Day. The A team will play a match against Gonville ‘at Wanganui, and the B team will play Rongotea at Bulls. Any member unable to play must notify the secretary, Mr. F. F. Rialfe. The following are the players selected:—A. team: Misses Goebel, J. Wilson, Walker, Green, Mesdames Law, Ralfe, Carter and Walker, Messrs McDonald, Ralfe, C. Farrer, Mansell, H. Tricker, Homes, Ingram and Walker. B. team: Misses Johnstone, Vile, Nicholson, V; Farrer, M. Brookie and Mansell; Messrs E. Broughton, L. Whisker, C. M. Broughton, Flower, J. Tricker and H. Jones. Emergencies: .Misses K. Farrer and McGregor and Messrs E. Wilson and G. Bertram. GENERAL NEWS. The opening day of the Bowling and Croquet Clubs will bo held on Monday afternoon (Labour Day). Wanganui Salvation Army Band intends paying ti visit to Bulls and will render a fine programme of music at 3.30 this (Saturday) afternoon.
