THRILLING FIRE
FLAME-CIRCLED HOME. One of the largest retail stores in Cardiff was involved on August 13 in a mysterious fire, which broke out in the early hours. The flames had secured a firm grip of the building, of Messrs 1). O.’Morgan, Ltd., in the heart of the citv, when it tvas found that the caretaker, his wife and two children were asleep in the house adjoining, and in great danger. High-shooting flames barred the way to the house, but the entrance was reached by firemen scaling a -wall and jumping out into the yard which gave access to the side door. It was some time before the family were aroused, the fire at that time having spread nearer to them. The brigade confined the fire to the furniture stores. Two garages, which contained a number of luxurious cars and a large stock of petrol, were saved.
