The Holmdale loads in Dunedin to-morrow, Oamaru and Timaru on Monday, Lyttelton Tuesday, Wellington Wednesday, and is due here on Thursday. THE JOHN. The John sailed yesterday for Lyttelton with a load of cattle. THE PROGRESS. The Progress is loading timber at Waikato and sails for Lyttelton. The vessel is due here from the South on Wednesday. Messrs Johnston and Co. advise: — THE ARAPAWA. The Arapawa is due here to-morrow from Onehunga, and sails after discharge for Onehunga direct. The vessel loads there on Tuesday for Wanganui. Messrs Cock and Co. advise: — THE KAITOA. The Kaitoa arrived in port yesterday morning with coal, and sailed in the evening for Tarakohe. Messrs A. Hatrick and Co. advise:— THE KAPITI. The Kapiti is due here early from Wellington. THE HAWERA. The Hawera is due here to-day from Wellington with cargo for discharge. THE DORSET. Loading operations on the Dorset were continued yesterday, and the vessel is scheduled to leave the roadstead on Monday for Wellington, thence Lyttelton from which port she will take her departure for England next month. AQUITANIA’S NEW RECORDS. The Cunard liner Aquitania on a recent voytge from New York to Southampton, beat on two successive days her previous eastbound steaming record, travelling distances of 575 and 579 mMes respectively, the latter at an average speed of 24.97 knots. The speed for the entire trip was only a fraction of a knot below her record performance, and would in all probability have been even better had fog not delayed her for a short period.

TAINUI’S MOVEMENTS. The Tainui sailed from Auckland yesterday for Opua to lift further Homeward cargo. She afterwards fills up at Lyttelton and Wellington, and is expected at the latter port on November 3, sailing finally from there on November 7 for London, via Panama. MATAKANA’S PROGRAMME. The Matakana sailed from Wellington yesterday for discharging and loading at Lyttelton. She later proceeds to Dunedin to complete her discharge of Liverpool cargo, and then loads at Port Chalmers, Waikokopu, Auckland and Wellington for Home. The Mate.kana is due to return to Wellington on November 13 and is scheduled to clear there on November 17 for London, via Monte Video and Teneriffe. RARANGA TO LOAD. To complete discharge of her London cargo, and to commence loading, the Raranga leaves Lyttelton to-day for Timaru. She subsequently loads at Pieton, Wellington (November 4 to November 10) and Auckland, and sails finally from Auckland on November 18 for London, via Monte Video and Teneriffe. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE.
