I • the expedition. Lieut. Wilkins appointed his own collector, and as the funds were collected they were cabled to him. The collector has been waiting for the seamen’s strike to end before commencing his work, but he had now decided to begin operations this week. A sum of £B5O has been cabled to Lieut. Wilkins in the past few days.
