MUNICIPAL PICTURES. DOUBLE-FEATURE PROGRAMME. There was a good attendance at the Opera House last evening to t witness the initial screening of the special double-feature programme, headed by “Sackcloth. and Scarlet/ , This picture tells a gripping story. Here’s George Gibbs’ sensational story of two sisters —one who played and the other who paid (on her sister’s account). Alic® Tprry, one of the screen’s most beautiful and talented actress, is the star. Her work in various Rex. Ingram productions will be remembered, but this is her first appearance in a Paramount picture. Supporting Alice Terry is a cast of players who give excellent portrayals. They include Dorothy Sebastian and Orville Caldwell. The production is by Henry King. The second feature is a Metro picture entitled “One Night in Rome,’’ a thrilling mystery romance of society. The supporting players include Tom Moore. Laurette' Taylor and Alan Hale. In addition there is a good supporting programme. To-morrow at the matinee only will be screened a further instalment of the world-fam cd serial “Wolves of the North.’’ On Monday next only (Labour Day) will bo screened Boomerang, the New Zealand wonder horse, in “His Liast Race.’’ Snowy Baker, Paulino Starke and Noah Beery are featured players. This Goldstone special will be screened on Labour Day at the matinee and evening sessions. The box plans are at Messrs H. I. Jones and Son’s.
