TENNIS
ST. JOHN’S CLUB Next Monday being a holiday, a match, captain v. vice-captain, will take place, commencing at 10 a.m., and will continue all day. Players wishing to -play morning or afternoon only can do so. All members are asked to participate. Visitors are also invited. Morning and afternoon tea will be provided by the club. The match will comprise singles, ladies’ and gents’ double, and combined doubles. At an early date the captain will hold a class of instruction for the benefit of any players who wish to attend. The club has also started a circulating library, and books have been donated by Messrs Billows and Lampe. The handicap events are now in full swing. Members are reminded to get them played by the date mentioned— October 31.
