MR CORRIGAN’S MEETING

(To the Editor.) ! Sir, —It has been reported that at Mr J. R. Corrigan’s Maxwelltown meeting Mr H. Siddall in proposing a I vote of thanks also desired to move a vote of confidence, *which was declined by Mr Corrigan. As the mover of that motion, would you grant me permission to correct that report. After having moved the motion I was proceeding to state that the question of confidence would be revealed on polling day. Mr Corrigan interrupted me in the latter statement and said he did not desire a motion of confidence, to which opinion I agreed. As in the past 1 I will hear the two candidates and I then decide who in my opinion is best I fitted to serve as political representa- | tive for Patea electorate, and vote i accordingly.—l am, etc., H. SIDDALL.
