Yelling, shrieking, obstructionists, including several women, made pandemonium of a meeting addressed by, Miss Melville, Reform candidate for Grey Lynn. The uproar was led by a women with a shrill voice, and the candidate was subjected to continuous interruptions throughout her address, and at question time thundering voices tried to make speeches in reply to the candidate’s answers. A vote of no-confidence w!as moved “owing to the candidate’s lack of political knowledge,” but an amendment of thanks and confidence was carried by the candidate’s friends, who w r ere in good force, while their opponents cheered the Labour candidate and sang “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow. ’ ’
