SATURDAY’S SPORTS ON COOK’S GARDENS The Railway Department has delayed the trains to Hawera and Palmerston North until 4.47 p.m. and 4.35 p.m. respectively, to enable visitors from the country to see the end of the sports at Cook’s Gardens on Saturday. Children and their parents are promised an interesting afternoon. There will be a variety of athletic events for all classes of school children as well as for Wanganui’s leading athletes. The Y.M.C.a. and the Boy Scouts are to give spectacular displays, and two banners are to bo competed for by the primary schools of the district. There will be refreshment booths on the ground, and selections will be played by the Garrison Band. Tickets of admission are .1/- and 6d.
