JERSEY CATTLE CLUB
FIRST ANNUAL MEETING. The first lannual meeting of the Wanganui Jersey Cat tip Club was held in the Agricultural Association's office on Wednesday, Mr. J. J. Taylor presid ing over a goud attendance of members. ANNUAL REPORT. The president’s report congratulated the members on the success of the club’s operations during its first veinof existence. When the project whs ] lirst mooted it was looked upon somewhat askantly, but. the few originators of the club stuck to their ideas with the pleasing result that there wore eight now members joining up in addition to scvcrtil others in view. During the past year the club hail been able to assist the local Agricultural Association considerably in strengthening the Jersey section both financially [and in regards to numbers of entries, and they should make further efforts jis this direction this year. The demon Istration by Mr. Watson was a further illustration of what could be done to 'further the interests of the club anil [also the .Hr a\v breed in general. They ‘also arranged with the Hamilton \ ar (cine Company Io give an hddross. with ! the result that upwards of .'l5OO cows in this district have been inoculated iagain.st marnitis. The president wishled to convey his hearty thanks to all [who have assisted him during his year •of office and enabling the ‘dub 10 I achieve the position that they now held. The financial position showed 8 • credit balance of £l2 12s Id. j The report, was adopted. i Before vacating the chhir. Mr. T'ay | lor wished, on behalf of the club to ! specially thank the secretary (Mr. T. IG. Seddon) for the good work he has (done since the club’s formation and he hoped that the club would have the benefit of his services in the future. I The small honorarium granted in no J wav recompensed him for the amount iof work put in. but. no doubt, as the j club grew they would be able to do something better. j Several members spoke expressing (the appreciation of the efforts of Mr. i Tavlor to make the club a success, cs- ; peciallv is connection with the demont stUition, which was held on his proper t v. *• ; ‘ ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The election of officers for the enduing year resulted: President: Mr. J. J. Tavlor, Westmere ( re-elected’i; vice presidents, Messrs G. H. Handley , Kapanui (re-elected) and J. W. .E. i Broderick. M. E. Baker. C. Baldwin. .T. IL Pederson. W. J. Mawson, Alex. Donald, E. Bruce. 1 It was resolved to again support the ! .Terser section at the forthcoming show Son the same lines as last year, with it ho right to further inerehise the prize I money up to time of issue of schedule, I the sum of £l5 being donated, in the | room, to assist in this direction.
