ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
FALL OVER A CLIFF (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 24. E. Butt, a young girl, fell over a cliff at Sumner yesterday, but was saved by a ledge of rock. Here she lay for two hours unable to move. Then a passer-by saw her and with police assistance raised her to the top by a rope uninjured but prostrated. A SMITH FATALLY INJURED WAIHT. July 24. W. Angell, a married mbn employed at the Waihi Gold Mining Company’s smithy, who was struck down by a. beam falling from overhead on Wednesday, died last night from his injuries. DEATH FROM INJURIES TE AWAMUTU, July 24. E. O. Spragg, u married man with three children, died at tho Waikato Hospital this morning, as tho result of injuries received a week ago through an electric power pole falling on him.
