ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
EKETAHUNA, May 2. A single man named Frederick Ropers, aged 32, was missing from Cox and Cunning's Waterfalls station for nearly a fortnight and the police at Eketahuna and Pongaroa organised search parties. They were unsuccessful. but they found botits and some clothes on the bank of the creek. 'Hits : morning advice was received that a body was found in a creek two miles away from where the articles were found. His only known relative is a sister in Hawcra. He formerly resided in Hastings.
FATALLY SHOT AT MANGAPAI. WHANGAREI. May 2. When cleaning a sporting gun last evening at his mother’s residence at Mangapai, David Miller, aged 34, was fatally shot in the abdomen. by the accidental explosion of a cartridge. Of its presence in tlhe firearm Miller was not. aware. ______
