DOMINION CONFERENCE (Per Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH. Feb. 26. A Domnion conference of delegates to the Royal Life Saving Society was held to-day. The Dominion Executive of the society came in for a great deal of criticism, in fact no delegates had a good word to say for it. Mr Bamford (Canterbury), in moving {“That 'in the interests of life saving in New Zealand the Dominion executive council be abolished.” said that the ieouin-il had done nothing to justify its ■ existence. i .Mr Smith said the Wellington Centre was nothing short of disgusted with lhe Dominion Council. He moved that the Dominion Executive be reconstructed {under a revised constitution, the exeeujtive to issue the whole of lhe awards ; for Now /■■aland, to act in any disputes i between the head centres, ami to be a body to which an affiliated club or individual member can appeal in the case of a dispute. I The following Canterbury remit was i carried: “That the New Zealand test for the surf award be brought, as far as I practicable, into line with the Ausitraliau. so that the awards may be of {equal value throughout Australia and •New Zealand.” The following Wellington remit was ■ carried: “That the Dominion executive ■ consider the advisability of holding the I Nelson and Wigram Shield competitions :at a different period of the year from the N.Z.A.S.A. championship, this centre suggesting the Christmas and New [Year holidays.
