LOCAL AGENTS’ ADVICE. Messrs C. F. Mill ward and Co. advise that the Gabriella arrived on Thursday from Newcastle direct with about 2000 tons of coal. The Calm is due at Wanganui to-day from Southern ports via Wellington. After discharge she sails for Wellington, Picton, and all southern ports, including Bluff. The Gale loads at Dunedin on Monday, Oamaru and Timaru Tuesday, Lyttelton Wednesday, thence Wellington. Picton and due Wanganui on the 30th inst. The Breeze loads at Dunedin Wednesday, Oamaru and Timaru Thursday, thence Lyttelton and Wanganui. The Storm is scheduled to load at Dunedin 30th, Oamaru and Timaru Ist. thence Lyttelton, Wellington and Wanganui. The Omana is due at Wanganui next week from Port Stevens via Tauranga. Messrs S. Holm and Co. advise that the Holmdale loads at Lyttelton to-day. Wellington Monday, and is due here on Tuesday. The John loads at Lyttelton to-day, Wellington Monday, and is due here on Tuesday and sails for New Plymouth the same day. THE KAPITI. Messrs Hatrick and Co. advise that the Kapiti is due back here again on Monday. THE ARAPAWA. Messsr Johnston and Co. advise that the Arapawa left Onehunga yesterday for Wanganui and is due here on Monday. ARRIVAL OF THE HOLMWOOD. The Holmwood arrived in the roadstead yesterday morning from Newcastle, via New Plymouth and berthed at the Castlecliff wharf yesterday afternoon under the supervision of Captain J. White, acting-harbour-master. having being towed in by the Togo. The vessels is 174 ft. long. 40ft. in beam, and was drawing 16ft 3in of water at the time of entering the port. Captain A. G. Taylor is in command of the vessel, and has with him Mr. F. Nicholson (first mate) and Mr. F. Copland (second mate), with a crew of 15 all told. The schooner is 763 tons and was built in 1900 by the firm of H. E. Heckendorf, Marshfield, Oregon and was formerly known as the Forest Home. She originally belonged to the Hicks Lumber Company, being purchased by her present owners through the Admiralty Court at Wanganui last year. Prior to her entering the intercolonial service. the Holmwood underwent extensive overhaul and conversion for about six months at Wellington, to fit her for the Australian trade. The Holmwood has 700 tons of Newcastle coal for discharge at this port. She will sail for Australian ports direct during next week. THE TEKOA. The Tekoa will now get away from Auckland at daybreak to-day for Wellington, where she is due on Monday to unload the remainder of her London cargo. The vessel is due in the local roadstead on August 30. THE WAIMANA. The Waimana left Gisborne on Thursday for Auckland to complete her cargo. She will sail from Auckland on Tuesday for London, via Teneriffe. CARGO FROM PACIFIC COAST. News has been received that the Swayne and Hoyte Line steamer West Islip is to be dispatched from San Francisco about Sept. 13 with cargo from Pacific Coast ports for New Zealand. NEXT SYDNEY BOAT. The next boat to arrive at Wellington from Sydney will be the Union Co’s Manuka which is due there on Tuesday. She will sail on the return trip to Sydney on Criday of next week. INTERCOLONIAL SERVICE. Manuka left Auckland yesterday for Sydney ; due there August 26; sails August 29 for Wellington ; due Wellington Sept. 2. Maheno left Sydney yesterday for Auckland; due there August 26; sails August 29 for Sydney. Ulimaroa left Wellington yesterday for Sydney; due there August 26; leaves Sydney August 30 for Auckland. Moeraki left Melbourne yesterday for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton and Wellington; due Wellington about August 30; sails September 1 for Melbourne. PACIFIC MAIL SERVICES. Niagara.
