AT CRAGGY RANGE HOMESTEAD, NEAR HAVELOCK NORTH, HAWKE’S BAY, N.Z. 1000 STUD BOUTHDOWNS - Including Stud Rams, Stud Ewes, aid Stud Ram Lambs, but excepting from above total portion of the ewe lambs. INSTRUCTED by W. VAN ASHE,, Esq., Craggy Range, Hawke’s Bay,, WRIGHT, STEPHENSON AND Co., LTD,, in conjunceion with MURRAY, ROBERTS AND CO., LTD., will disperse the Craggy Range Stud as above: ’This Stud was established by the purchase outright of the late G. P. Donnelly ’s Famous Stud. The Stud was established in 1903, when the late Mr Donnelly acquired from His Majesty the King the Champion and the Reserve Champion Rams at the English Royal Show, together with 12 selected ewes from the same flock. Later importations on a big s ale 'were again made from the Sandringhaip Stud, and also from Messrs J. ana W. Langmead, and in 1913, from Sir J. Coleman, of the Reserve Ch.-.inpion Ram at the Eng lish Royal Show. In 1921, by purchase Mr Van Ashe also divided the complete Mangatewai Stud of F. A. Price, Esq., with Major Taverner. See history of Flock No. 70, which shows that this Stud originated from direct dcscen iants of imported sheep, and the noted imported rapi, Guildford, the best of his day, and whose blood was availed of in the best flocks in N.Z., including that of Mr Donnelly. The Craggy Range Flock has been entirely GRASS FED, and the Auc tioneers recommend this Stud with every confidence, to prospective buyers, as being typical in every respect of the best of the breed. IMPORTANT UNRESERVED DISPERSAL SALE. “TIKORANGI” FRIESIAN STUD. AT THE HOMESTEAD, MANAKAU, Near Levin. WEDNESDAY, JULY 9, 1924. AT 11 A.M. OWING to the recent death of the founder of this great stud, the late Mr William Bevan, the complete herd of 96 head, including NETHERLAND riETERTJE of BAINFIELD “The 10001 b. butter-fat bull,” will be sold absolutely without reserve. The herd is built on the very best blood lines, the bulk of the cattle being bred from the blood of such great imported sires as Woodcrest Joe, Sir de Koi Inka Pietertje, King Scgis, Wile Rose Homestead, and Grace Nctherland' of Riverside. The late Mr Bevan carried out a very stringent system of culling and every animal that was not up to the highest stud standard was sold as a grade. The thorouglni in which this was done is shown by the great type and productive ability of the “Tikorangi” stud to-day. Semi-official testing nts not been seriously carried out, but these *ittle are bred right and built right as. producers, some of the herd members having milked up to «0 lb per day on grass alone.
